Real Estate Education Is Changing: What Humber Learners Need to Know Before Sept 30th 2025

Last updated Jun 25, 2026 | All Realtors, New Real Estate Agents

If you’re currently enrolled in Humber College’s real estate program—or planning to be—listen up. Big changes are coming to Ontario’s real estate education system, and missing key dates could set your career back months.

Whether you’re in the middle of your pre-registration journey, gearing up for your Broker courses, or planning your next steps after registration, now is the time to pay close attention. The window to act is narrowing, and agents who stay ahead of this transition will be the ones who hit the ground running when they get licensed.

TLDR:

Humber College’s real estate education program is ending its current platform on September 30, 2025. Key enrollment and exam deadlines fall between August 30 and September 23, 2025. Students mid-program will transition to a new system and will need a RECO ID to continue. Download your course materials before Sept 30, meet every deadline, and use this transition as the perfect moment to choose the right brokerage for your career launch.

Real Estate Education Is Changing: What Humber Learners Need to Know Before Sept 30th 2025

What’s Happening?

Humber College, in partnership with NIIT Canada, has been delivering Ontario’s real estate education program since 2019. But as of September 30, 2025, that partnership ends. A new learning management system will take over, and Meazure Learning will be the new exam provider.

This means:

  • Your access to current course content will be cut off after Sept 30
  • If you’re mid-program, you’ll be transitioned to a new platform
  • New exams will be delivered by a new provider
  • Some important deadlines are coming up fast

Let’s break it all down.

Key Deadlines You Can’t Afford to Miss

  • Last day to enroll in eLearning for Pre-Registration Courses 2–4: September 1, 2025
  • Last day to enroll in Course 5 or Post-Registration courses: September 23, 2025
  • Last day to enroll in Broker Courses: August 30, 2025
  • Last day to register for any exam under the current system: September 16, 2025
  • Last day to take exams: September 21, 2025
  • Last day to access course content: September 30, 2025

After this, the current system will shut down—and if you haven’t finished certain steps, you’ll need to adapt to the new model.

These aren’t soft suggestions. These are hard cutoffs. If you miss the August 30 broker course enrollment deadline, for example, you won’t be able to start those courses until the new platform is live. And nobody yet knows exactly what that onboarding experience will look like or how quickly learners can get up to speed. The safest play is to get as far as possible before the existing system closes its doors.

If you’re newer to Ontario’s real estate licensing process and still mapping out what courses you need to take and in what order, this overview of Ontario’s real estate course structure is a great place to get oriented before you plan your timeline around these deadlines.

Real Estate Education Is Changing: Are You Ready For What's Next

What Does the Transition Mean for You?

If you’re already partway through the program:

✅ You don’t need to reapply
✅ Completed courses (with passed exams) will carry over
✅ Course sequencing remains the same

However:

  • You will need a RECO ID to continue after Sept 30th 2025
  • All new exams will be taken through Meazure Learning
  • You must download any materials you want to keep—access will be removed

Humber recommends downloading your PDF course materials before September 30. Instructions can be found on their learner portal.

The RECO ID requirement is one that many current learners aren’t fully aware of yet. If you don’t already have yours, make sure you look into this now. RECO (Real Estate Council of Ontario) is the regulatory body that oversees registration and licensing for Ontario agents, and having your ID sorted before the transition will prevent unnecessary delays on the other side.

It’s also worth noting that your study habits and preparation strategies may need to shift slightly when using a new exam platform. Meazure Learning operates differently than the current exam system, so if you have the opportunity to take your remaining exams before September 21 under the system you already know, that’s often the lower-risk path.

How to Stay on Track (and Avoid Falling Behind)

Let’s be honest, real estate education is tough enough without navigating system transitions.

If you’re currently completing your courses, aim to finish as much as possible before the deadlines. Not only will this avoid confusion, but it could also save you weeks (or even months) of delay when switching to the new platform.

Here’s a practical approach to making it work:

Start with a course audit. Log into your Humber learner portal today and take stock of exactly where you are. Which courses are complete? Which are in progress? Which haven’t started? Map your remaining work against the deadline calendar above and figure out what’s realistically achievable before each cutoff.

Block study time now. If you have exams to sit before September 21, work backwards from that date and block dedicated study time in your calendar. Treat it like a client appointment—non-negotiable.

Don’t wait on the RECO ID. If continuing your education post-September 30 is part of your plan, get your RECO ID sorted sooner rather than later. This is one administrative step that’s easy to overlook but critical to keeping momentum.

Download everything. Even if you’ve already passed a course, download your PDFs and reference materials before September 30. You may want to revisit them for your post-registration education or during your first year in the field.

If you’re just starting the journey, now is the time to get strategic. Enroll in your first courses immediately, understand the deadline structure, and set yourself a pace that gets you through the pre-registration requirements before the system changes.

What Happens After You Get Licensed?

Here’s something the course curriculum won’t tell you: getting your license is just the beginning. The first 90 days after registration are among the most important of your real estate career, and far too many new agents spend them figuring out the basics instead of building their business.

Many newly licensed agents don’t realize that the brokerage they choose has a massive impact on how those first months unfold. The wrong environment can leave you without mentorship, without leads, and without the systems you need to succeed. And in real estate, lost time is lost income.

For a clear picture of what your first weeks in the field should actually look like, and how to set yourself up for early wins, this breakdown of your first 30 days as a new real estate agent in Ontario is worth reading before you even finish your last course.

New Course. New System. The Right Brokerage = Big Difference

Choosing the Right Brokerage to Fuel Your Real Estate Journey

With a new education system launching this fall, now is the perfect time to reflect not just on your learning, but on where you want your career to grow.

As you prepare to become licensed, one of the most important decisions you’ll make is which brokerage to align yourself with. And it’s not just about brand names or commission splits, it’s about choosing a place that actually helps you succeed.

Many new agents default to the biggest name they recognize—the national franchise with the most signs in the neighbourhood. But bigger doesn’t always mean better support, especially in your first year. The brokerage that’s right for you is the one that matches your working style, provides genuine mentorship, and gives you the tools to generate business from day one.

When you’re weighing your options, ask yourself: Will I have access to a dedicated mentor? Does this brokerage have a real onboarding system? Are there training sessions I can actually attend? Do they provide leads, or am I on my own from day one? These questions matter more than the logo on your business card.

For a deeper look at exactly what to evaluate when making this decision—and what separates a growth-focused brokerage from one that just adds headcount—this guide on how to choose the right brokerage as a new real estate agent walks you through the key factors in detail.

At Realty World Legacy, we believe new agents deserve more than just a login and a desk. You deserve a launchpad, a brokerage that provides personalized mentorship, real-world training, and systems that take the guesswork out of your first year.
